We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced professional for the role of:

Director of Health

As a recognized leader, you possess a deep passion for holistic and culturally grounded services that uplift urban Indigenous communities. You excel in multifaceted roles and demonstrate exceptional organizational capabilities.


In this senior leadership position, you will oversee the coordination of all health services and programs within this portfolio through proactive planning, budget oversight, quality supervision, and leadership in program and community development. Additionally, you will manage contract supervision and guide programs to identify ongoing funding opportunities while developing innovative initiatives. The health services at PGNFC are culturally attuned and include programming for the Native Healing Centre, PACT, and Emergency Food Resources.


Key Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in health sciences, Public Administration, Indigenous Studies, Social Sciences, or a related field, along with a minimum of 5 years of management experience in community-based health and wellness programming.
  • A relevant bachelor's degree may be considered with a combination of 7-10 years of management experience in the social services health sector, along with additional professional development.
  • Extensive understanding of culturally responsive health programs and service delivery in urban Indigenous communities.
  • Demonstrated supervisory experience at a management level with Indigenous-led approaches.
  • Proficiency in report writing on activities, financial management, strategic planning, and setting goals and objectives.
  • A strong commitment to awareness and knowledge of Indigenous history and culture, as well as an understanding of the complexities involved in working with diverse populations.
  • Ability to cultivate and maintain robust relationships with local, regional, provincial, and national partners.
  • Exceptional professional communication skills, including presentation abilities, writing proficiency, computer skills, and authentic interpersonal skills.
  • Proven teamwork and leadership skills, with a visionary capacity to inspire and empower others.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the social service sector, community-based programs and services, funding sources, and community and board relations.
  • Clear Criminal Record Clearances and a valid Driver's License.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including on-call duties, evenings, and weekends.
