Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Assistant Store Manager to join our team at Farm Boy. As an Assistant Store Manager, you will be responsible for assisting the Store Manager in the day-to-day operation and management of the assigned store. You will be responsible for providing superior customer service, working with the Store Manager and Department Managers to execute strategies, and leading the team to achieve stated goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional customer service and support to all employees and customers.
- Work closely with the Store Manager and Department Managers to develop and implement strategies to achieve sales and customer service goals.
- Lead and motivate the team to achieve high levels of performance and customer satisfaction.
- Assist in the implementation of health and safety programs and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Support the Store Manager in the management of store operations, including inventory, ordering, and merchandising.
- Participate in community events and promote Farm Boy's community presence.
- Perform other related duties as required.
Qualifications
- Typically requires completion of a post-secondary program with an emphasis in business, plus 5 to 7 years of progressively responsible managerial experience in retail, preferably in the perishable food industry.
- Successful completion of a Public Health Food Handler certification, Smart Serve plus Level A First Aid and Basic CPR certification, or the commitment to complete within 6 months.
- Good knowledge of retail industry, food products, and superior standards of quality.
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and analytical skills.
- Ability to learn manual and automated systems/tools.
- Experience in working with various computer software programs, including Microsoft Office.
Work Environment
- Providing service to several people or departments, working under many simultaneous deadlines.
- Required to stand and walk for long periods of time during shift.
- Required to lift, carry, or handle heavy objects.
