Position Overview

As a key member of the First Student Canada-Transco team, the Dispatcher plays a vital role in ensuring the efficient operation of our transportation services. Our organization is recognized as a leading provider of school transportation, committed to delivering safe and reliable services to communities across North America.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and oversee all bus routes and scheduling to ensure timely service delivery.
  • Provide guidance and support to drivers and monitors, fostering a collaborative work environment.
  • Handle high volumes of communication via phone and radio, addressing scheduling and driver concerns.
  • Act as the primary communication link with major clients, ensuring their needs are met.
  • Assist with administrative tasks such as charter reservations, billing, and payroll for drivers.
  • Develop solutions for any issues related to drop-off and pick-up logistics.
  • Perform additional clerical duties and special projects as assigned.
  • Support the supervision of daily operational activities.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience in dispatch or operations.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent educational background.
  • Basic proficiency with radio dispatch systems.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • The ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Computer literacy and familiarity with operational software.
  • Compliance with DOT drug testing and physical requirements.
