We are looking for a versatile and proactive leader to join our team as a Sanitation Quality Specialist in Grand Falls, NB. Reporting to the Site Food Safety and Quality Manager, the ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in sanitation and sanitary design at our manufacturing facility. This role is essential for developing and enforcing standards and policies that ensure our processes, equipment, and facilities are effectively cleaned and sanitized to uphold product safety and quality. Collaboration with operations and engineering teams will be crucial to achieving McCain's objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
• Establish and uphold sanitation standards and policies for both wet and dry cleaning operations in accordance with corporate guidelines.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with plant operations, corporate quality and food safety teams, chemical suppliers, and third-party sanitation providers to implement and enhance sanitation programs at the manufacturing site.
• Monitor key sanitation metrics, such as chemical usage and sanitation effectiveness, to identify and address emerging issues proactively.
• Analyze and improve plant sanitation and pest control programs.
• Validate extended cleaning requests and support new line or equipment installations.
• Conduct assessments, audits, and inspections of sanitation systems and practices to ensure compliance and identify improvement opportunities.
• Evaluate any identified Sanitation Preventive Controls in Food Safety Plans in partnership with site food safety teams.
• Collaborate intentionally with Operations, Engineering, Environmental Health & Safety, and Maintenance to address sanitary design challenges and prioritize capital projects related to sanitation and food safety.
• Provide training and education to key stakeholders on sanitation principles.
• Assist in corrective and preventive actions and root cause analyses when environmental issues arise.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
• A Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is preferred; relevant experience will also be considered.
• 3 to 5 years of experience in:
o Frozen food manufacturing operations and/or
o Quality assurance in food processing.
• Proficiency in coordinating technical knowledge with production activities.
• Familiarity with root cause analysis tools for sanitation issues.
• Comprehensive understanding of food safety and sanitation principles and practices.
• A team player with a strong attendance record.
