About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Machine Operator to join our team at Elphege & Norbert Leblanc Ltd. As a Machine Operator, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining various machines used in the fish processing and packaging department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Machine Operation: Set up and operate machines to clean, cut, cook, smoke, brine, dehydrate or otherwise process fish or seafood products.
  • Quality Control: Check products and packaging for defects and ensure conformance to company standards, performing corrective machine adjustments as required.
  • Record Keeping: Record production information and maintain accurate records.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of equipment to ensure optimal performance.
Requirements
  • Education: No degree, certificate, or diploma required.
  • Experience: Willingness to train and learn new skills.
  • Physical Demands: Physically demanding work environment, requiring standing for extended periods.
  • Language: English or French language proficiency.
  • Work Hours: 35 to 40 hours per week.
Working Conditions
  • Work Site Environment: Exposure to odours, cold/refrigerated temperatures, and wet/damp conditions.
  • Equipment and Machinery Experience: Familiarity with fish cleaning and cutting machines, fish products machines, and fish smokers and dehydrators.
