The Physiotherapist II role is a critical provincial position within the patient services branch of the Allied Health Professions department. This position is a virtual provincial role, allowing for flexibility in location within Alberta.
Key Responsibilities- Provide coordination of physiotherapy and other allied health clinical services.
- Supervise students and team members as assigned.
- Work independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team, providing leadership to other healthcare professionals.
- Make day-to-day clinical decisions on patient/family needs regarding assessment, intervention, discharge, and follow-up.
- Advise team members on complex clinical cases and provide clinical leadership within the program or service area to ensure safe, efficient, and effective client care.
- Ensure physiotherapy practice is evidence-based and in alignment with Alberta legislation and regulations, professional standards of practice, code of ethics, and AHS policy and guidelines.
- Coordinate the day-to-day operations of an assigned service area and monitor care delivery, identifying service needs and assisting other medical staff with caseload management.
- Participate in program development and operational planning and represent the department on committees or programs.
- Make decisions on staffing level requirements, workflow, caseload priorities in collaboration with managers and other healthcare providers.
