The ideal candidate will engage in a diverse array of projects throughout Ontario and Canada, collaborating with an in-house, multi-disciplinary team of top-tier experts in the field.

Key Responsibilities:

The selected individual will have the chance to take on a pivotal role in traffic operations and parking assessments for both public and private sector initiatives. This position is open to candidates from any of our Ontario locations.

As a Traffic Operations Lead (Associate, Manager) within our expanding Mobility Advisory team, your primary focus will be on projects aimed at revitalizing congested urban corridors and enhancing mobility solutions, including traffic signal synchronization and transit signal prioritization. You will collaborate closely with our in-house planners and engineers situated across Canada, and have the opportunity to partner with global industry leaders across various disciplines to successfully deliver urban development projects.

Arcadis offers flexible and remote working options, opportunities for professional growth, and a nurturing and collaborative team atmosphere. We encourage participation in professional organizations, conferences, and support our employees in their journey of continuous learning.

We seek candidates with proven expertise in complex traffic operations and parking initiatives. Significant experience should encompass a leadership role in conducting operational analyses and simulations of major roadways and high-capacity transit systems. The ideal applicant will have a background working with provincial, regional, and municipal authorities.

Role Responsibilities:

Assemble and lead project teams on engaging and challenging assignments, focusing on alleviating congestion and enhancing traffic operations in urban settings. Act as Project Manager in a client-facing capacity, while also ensuring a reputation for excellence in all technical outputs. Foster the growth and development of the team by motivating, inspiring, and energizing members through project experiences. Provide career guidance as a reporting manager for multiple professionals. Oversee staff productivity and utilization. Utilize judgment to identify and resolve daily technical and operational challenges. Cultivate a sense of shared ownership and accountability while balancing decisiveness and holding team members accountable for timely and budget-compliant project delivery. Build and maintain client relationships through exceptional customer service and communication, identifying potential market opportunities, leading proposal preparations, networking, and other business development efforts. Contribute to client and project success by prioritizing quality of life improvements and embedding sustainability into all initiatives. Enhance Arcadis' reputation through active engagement in professional associations and committees. Consistently deliver high-quality proposals, presentations, and reports, leading by example through personal professional development.

Required Qualifications:

A minimum of seven years of experience, including a leadership role in traffic operations and parking assessments such as Project Manager or Technical Lead. Progressive experience in project management and business development, including responding to Requests for Proposals (RFPs). Strong understanding of capacity analysis software (e.g., Synchro). Experience with meso- and micro-simulation modeling tools (e.g., VISUM, VISSIM, AIMSUN, Vistro). Familiarity with roundabout analysis software (e.g., ARCADY or RODEL) is considered an asset. Working knowledge of relevant guidelines and applications. Experience in curbside management, parking policy evaluation, signal design, or civil engineering is advantageous. Excellent analytical and decision-making capabilities, with a commitment to high-quality work. Proven technical writing skills in English, along with strong interpersonal and organizational abilities. Demonstrated ability to communicate complex concepts and persuade others to consider alternative viewpoints. Experience in preparing materials for and facilitating discussions with technical agencies and the public. Ability to adapt and collaborate within a multi-disciplinary team while maintaining quality work in a fast-paced environment. Willingness to attend client and public meetings as required.
