Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Fabricator who will excel in interpreting schematics and blueprints to create metal components and structures according to client specifications. The ideal candidate will be eager to learn, detail-oriented, and a collaborative team member. Key Responsibilities
- Interpreting blueprints, drawings, and sketches while ensuring precise fitting of components
- Utilizing tools such as brakes, shears, and saws
- Welding in accordance with CWB standards (MIG)
- Finishing and polishing welds
- Assisting with various shop projects, including maintenance tasks
- Fabricating a variety of jobs and projects
- Understanding GMP guidelines and practices
- Conducting quality control inspections
- Collaborating closely with designers, engineers, and product development teams
- Completing all daily paperwork accurately and on time
- Maintaining professionalism in alignment with company values, including appropriate language, attire, and workmanship
- Being available for overtime and on-call duties as per company policy and relevant employment legislation
- Performing other duties as assigned
Qualifications and Experience
- High School diploma or equivalent
- 1-4 years of fabrication experience
- MIG welding experience with mild steel
- A proactive attitude with a focus on overcoming challenges
- A collaborative mindset that values team success
- Ability to identify potential issues and suggest improvements
- Adaptability to changing priorities and conditions
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
Preferred Qualifications
- Metal Fabricator/Fitter 437A certification or equivalent
- CWB tickets are considered a significant asset
