About the Role:

Giant Tiger is seeking a skilled Cashier to join our team in Oromocto, NB. As a Cashier, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, accurately processing transactions, and maintaining a clean and organized checkout area.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction through effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Accurately record customer transactions and maintain a safe and secure environment.
  • Replenish merchandise around the checkout area and maintain a clean and organized workspace.
  • Follow health and safety policies and guidelines, as well as loss prevention best practices.
  • Ensure compliance with all policies when selling Tobacco and Lottery.

Requirements:

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Attention to detail and strong customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Physical demands include standing, walking, bending, twisting, and lifting up to 18 kg (40 lbs).

While performing the duties of this job, you can expect to:

Keyholder Premium (If Applicable):

Opening and closing the store on an ad hoc basis, including running register reports, ensuring all areas are tidy, and ensuring all Associates have completed their end of shift tasks.

Closing: responsible for security of the store, including locking and setting alarm.

Opening: ensuring store is well-stocked and ready for the customer, clean and tidy, and ensuring Associates are ready to open their areas for the shift.

Employee Universal Accountabilities:

Ensures a high level of customer service, ensuring health and safety policies and guidelines are followed, ensuring loss prevention best practices are followed, and ensuring compliance of all policies when selling Tobacco and Lottery.
