About the Role:
Humber River Health is seeking a skilled Health Information Management Professional to join our team in the Health Information Services department. As an Inpatient Coder, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and quality of patient data.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and analyze patient records to assign ICD-10-CA/CCI codes
- Apply coding methodologies to ensure proper grouping outcomes
- Abstract information according to CIHI standards and hospital policy
- Document productivity in accordance with departmental protocols
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Graduate of an accredited Health Information Management program
- Certified Member of Canadian Health Information Management Association (CHIMA)
- 2-3 years of experience in inpatient coding/abstracting
- Proven knowledge of CIHI products and standards
- ICD10/CCI Classification Course preferred
- Working knowledge of Meditech 6.0 information systems an asset
