Prairie Mountain Health is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Home Care Attendant to provide direct client care and support within established standards of care, policies, and procedures.

Job Summary:

The Home Care Attendant will work with clients to support their independence in activities of daily living, while maintaining their dignity, privacy, and lifestyle. This role requires a strong understanding of safety and sanitation guidelines, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities:
  1. Provide direct client care and support, including assistance with activities of daily living, medication management, and enteral feeding.
  2. Support clients' independence in activities of daily living, as assessed by the Case Coordinator.
  3. Report any changes in the client situation to the Supervisor and/or Case Coordinator.
  4. Participate in staff meetings, case conferences, and in-service programs as required.
  5. Maintain regular reporting relationship with Supervisor.
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A Health Care Aide Certificate from a recognized Health Care Aide Program.
  • Province of Manitoba Class 5 Driver's Licence, or equivalent from province of residence, and access to a personal vehicle to provide service within Prairie Mountain Health (Not Required for Supportive Housing).
  • Demonstrated organizational skills, and the ability to work independently.
  • Demonstrated communication skills.
  • Demonstrated flexibility to facilitate changes in techniques and procedures.
  • Ability to display independent judgment.
  • Ability to respect and promote a culturally diverse population.
  • Ability to respect and promote confidentiality.
