Job Overview:

The engineer serves as the primary contact for technical benchmarking inquiries from stakeholders concerning PFDI and EE systems of competing vehicles. Key Responsibilities: Collaboration with the global benchmarking Technical Unit: Participate in virtual meetings to propose new initiatives, report on the status of ongoing projects, and gather new requests. Data Collection and Analysis: Collect, compile, and analyze technical data on competitive vehicle systems and components from various sources, ensuring the integrity and accuracy of the data. Target Studies: Conduct studies that include competitor system/component archetypes, value optimization opportunities, standardization assessments, electrification strategies, emerging technologies, and feature evaluations. Perform assessments between corporate and competitive vehicles to inform new design solutions that support future product development. Communication Management: Oversee the ongoing dissemination of study findings to the requestor, relevant organizations that may benefit from the study, and benchmarking colleagues in other regions. Process Development: Create and maintain processes for comprehensive vehicle teardowns, data analysis, idea generation, implementation tracking, and business intelligence development. Qualifications: Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET accredited institution. Relevant experience in the automotive sector. Strong technical knowledge of automotive body, chassis, and E/E systems/components, along with a keen interest in the technologies and features present in modern vehicles. Fundamental understanding of automotive materials, component manufacturing processes, and assembly techniques. Basic familiarity with Benchmarking Databases (e.g., Amac database). Proficient in Google G Suite and Microsoft Office applications. Excellent organizational skills, self-motivated, and capable of managing multiple projects while ensuring alignment with deliverables. Remote work flexibility, with no driving required.
