Job Title: Treatment Intake Counsellor

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Treatment Intake Counsellor to join our team at The Salvation Army. As a key member of our social services team, you will be responsible for providing support and guidance to individuals struggling with addiction and other challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct intake assessments to identify client needs and develop personalized treatment plans
  • Provide individual and group counselling sessions to support clients in achieving their goals
  • Collaborate with other service providers to ensure comprehensive support for clients
  • Maintain accurate records and reports to track client progress and program effectiveness

Requirements:

  • Minimum two years of community college in a related field
  • One year of related experience in social services
  • Ability to conduct group discussions and provide individual support
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, organization and administration skills, with strong computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Criminal Records Review Act clearance to work with vulnerable adults
  • Qualify for and be willing to obtain enhanced security clearance

Preferred Skills:

  • A working knowledge of substance addictions, homelessness and poverty issues and practical knowledge of life skills
