About Our Opportunity

The Government of Nova Scotia is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as a Prevention and Early Intervention Specialist. This exciting opportunity is part of our Department of Community Services, where we work collaboratively to provide a broad portfolio of programs and services that support vulnerable Nova Scotians.

Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the development, planning, monitoring, budgeting, and evaluation of effective policies and procedures.
  • Lead a coordinated, comprehensive regional service delivery of Child Welfare prevention and early intervention programs.
  • Interpret and clarify legislation, standards, policies, and procedures for staff, management, clients, and community partners.
  • Provide expert advice and program performance results to senior management.
  • Foster community collaboration and program support by advising and negotiating with community organizations.
  • Coordinate and integrate prevention and early intervention services provided in the region.
  • Support program professionals, supervisors, and managers by proposing solutions to complex cases.
  • Facilitate effective communication within the service delivery continuum.
Qualifications and Experience

We are looking for a professional with a bachelor's degree in a clinical area related to health and/or social science, or a related Master's degree. You must have excellent organizational skills, strong communication and interpersonal abilities, and be strategically orientated. Experience in situations requiring innovative and proactive solutions is essential.
