We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Residential Mortgage Officer to join our team at Equitable Bank. Key Responsibilities- Mortgage Origination: Obtain and review required documentation, including income and down payment verification, to ensure compliance with anti-money laundering (AML) and anti-terrorist financing (ATF) requirements.
- Loan Processing: Ensure mortgage files are in compliance with established lending policies and procedures, and that legal, AML, and ATF requirements have been satisfied.
- Time Management: Manage deal flow to meet prescribed deadlines, utilizing reports to track and manage the flow of all deals funding for the team.
- Communication: Communicate with internal and external contacts to ensure transactions are processed in a timely and efficient manner, providing exceptional customer service and resolving inquiries.
- Quality Assurance: Monitor changes to deals, update files as required, and ensure Quality Assurance requirements and Compliance review queries are dealt with in a timely and accurate manner.
- Education: Completion of a post-secondary degree in a financial field.
- Experience: 1-2 years' mortgage experience in the alternative mortgage market.
- Skills: Sound thinking, multi-tasking, excellent attention to detail, ability to grasp AML & ATF practices, established organizational skills, excellent time management, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Personal Qualities: Ability to thrive in a constantly changing environment, perform well in a high-volume, high-intensity environment, and provide superb customer service.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Office (mainly MS Word and Excel), detailed knowledge of mortgage funding and quality assurance processes, and ability to comprehend and assess documentation relating to mortgage down payment and borrower income confirmation.
