Essential Responsibilities

- Assist leadership with daily tasks including safety toolbox meetings, equipment inspection, and road condition inspection reports
- Support Foreperson in the planning of work to meet contractual milestones
- Monitor the quality of work performed by the crew
- Operate equipment on work sites as needed
- Help ensure health, safety, and environment related concerns are addressed promptly

Qualifications

- Valid Class 1 or 3 driver’s license with air endorsement and a clear 3-year driver's abstract
- Previous supervisory experience in highway maintenance, road construction, bridges or related field is required
- Snow plow experience is preferred
- Strong understanding of provincial and/or municipal highway maintenance specifications
- Professional written and verbal communication skills
- Computer skills are an asset
- Successful completion of pre-employment drug and alcohol and audiogram testing

Work Conditions

- Local candidates will be given preference due to the location of the work
- Will be required to work shifts, on-call, and nights as necessary
- Benefits provided by CLAC
- Work will be outdoors in various weather conditions

Rates & Premiums

- Will be provided a base hourly rate of $33.75/hr
- Eligible to receive premiums starting at $8/hour, when performing winter maintenance operations
- Operators will be eligible to receive a premium up to $14/hour when performing winter operations as a Class 1 operator and while operating the tow plow unit
