About the Opportunity

Reporting to the Health Services Manager, the Vascular Diagnostic Technologist is a member of the non-invasive vascular lab team. The Vascular Diagnostic Technologist applies critical techniques to perform sonographic examinations focused on the vascular system and associated pathological conditions. The technologist works alongside physicians to assess patients and their conditions, completing diagnostic testing as requested in accordance with departmental standards. The technologist is responsible for maintaining and enhancing professional competencies through ongoing professional development and ensuring their registration is current and valid.

About You

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

- Graduate of a recognized Diagnostic Medical Ultrasound Program or equivalent with Vascular Specialty
- Current (or eligible) for registration with NSCMIRTP
- Current credentialed member of Sonography Canada as a Canadian Registered Vascular Sonographer (CRVS)
- Current CPR - BLS (C) certification
- Minimum of one year clinical experience preferred
- Experience in a tertiary care setting an asset
- Experience as a preceptor an asset
- Experience with GE LOGIQ and FalconPro Peripheral Vascular System an asset
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience working with databases and associated software applications
- Physical ability to perform the assigned work
- Ability to maintain good relationships with patients, families, and co-workers
- Ability to work with minimum supervision, on a consultative basis, within the health care team
- Strong sense of initiative and responsibility
- Ability to adapt to flexible workload and stressful situations
- Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Hours

Permanent full-time position; 75 hours biweekly

Compensation and Benefits

$34.22 - $41.55 hourly
$43.00 hourly with 25 years' experience
This position is currently eligible for a Market Adjustment of approximately $239.25 biweekly. Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
