Our experienced and collaborative team offers locally relevant and practical solutions to support responsible development across Newfoundland and Labrador.

We are currently seeking a full-time Environmental Scientist/Technician to be based out of our Labrador City, NL office. The candidate will work with other team members and assist with completing project-based work for a variety of clients spanning from baseline studies to monitoring and assessing environmental impacts.

We are in search of a motivated individual who enjoys working as part of a team environment and approaches every challenge with a positive attitude, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to safety. The role will require traveling for extended periods to support fieldwork and contribute to project success across a variety of client needs.

Key Responsibilities

- Collect and analyze water and soil samples
- Prepare field notes and accurate data entry
- Maintain accurate records as per company QA/QC protocols
- Utilize various field instruments for data collection
- Technical writing and report preparation for a broad spectrum of topics including, but not limited to: species at risk, avifauna, rare plants, wetlands, air quality, water quality, etc.
- Maintain field equipment and ensure equipment is calibrated
- Participate in vegetation, wildlife, and aquatic surveys
- Operate trucks, boats, ATVs, UTVs, and snowmobiles
- Perform lifting and manual tasks as required
- Hike over rough terrain and/or snow in various weather conditions
- Travel within Newfoundland and Labrador, including remote locations
- Collaborate with biologists, surveyors, engineers, and scientists
- Other responsibilities as required

Education and Experience

- Post-secondary education in Environmental Science, Environmental Management, Environmental Policy, Biology, Chemistry, or related fields of study
- Demonstrated data organization and general computer skills
- Experience working in mines is an asset but not required
- Willingness to work overtime as required, including weekends
- GIS experience and knowledge is considered an asset
- Valid driver’s license (Class 5 or equivalent)
