Intermediate Biologist (Urban Development)PGL Environmental Consultants (PGL) is looking to hire an Intermediate Environmental Consultant, Biologist with a background in Urban Development and Project Management to join our Vancouver or Langley office. This role will be part of our Environmental Planning Group, servicing clients in diverse industries. PGL employees work a 37.5-hour work week, with flexibility to work from home or either office as needed.This role is responsible for scoping, conducting, and coordinating diverse environmental studies, as well as analyzing data and preparing reports for Environmental Impact Assessments and other environmental permitting projects. Under the supervision of senior environmental professionals, you will work in a team and with clients, regulators, and stakeholders to plan and coordinate the completion of environmental projects to meet client needs.Ideally, we are seeking a Registered Professional with diverse technical skills (urban development, fisheries, aquatic ecosystems, wildlife, vegetation, Species at Risk) and project management and consulting experience (client service, communications, business development).ResponsibilitiesCoordinating and executing environmental planning projects (e.g., urban development)Directing management of multi-disciplinary project teamsProject managing and communicating with clients and regulatorsWorking with clients to establish scope of work and budgets to meet project objectives and regulatory requirementsPreparing reports describing site conditions, impact assessments, recommendations, and environmental management plansCompleting technical fieldwork, depending on area of expertiseConducting business development—building your network and strengthening relationships within the industry to attract and retain clientsProviding technical direction and mentoring to junior staffYou will be expected to work both independently and within project groups, undertaking tasks from start to finish with full team support. The role will primarily involve project management, including directing others in the field, preparing reports, managing/liaising with clients, budgeting and invoicing. There will also be opportunities for fieldwork within your technical area.
