Sioux Lookout, Ontario Rate of Pay: Annual $100,075 – $128,818 / Hourly $54.986 – $70.779 Hours of Work: 35 hours per week Application Deadline: Open until filled Position Summary Nodin Mental Health Services, a department of the Sioux Lookout First Nations Health Authority (SLFNHA), supports the mental health and well‑being of First Nation individuals and communities. Nodin provides a wide range of services for children, youth, adults, and families, including intake, a social emergency response service, an outpatient mental health service, art therapy, psychology, school‑based counsellors, travelling counsellors, a hostel‑based counsellor, and a mobile outreach service. The Supervisor – Clinical, Outreach Services is a member of Nodin’s Outreach Service team, which includes travelling counsellors, school‑based counsellors, a hostel‑based counsellor, and mobile outreach staff. The Supervisor works collaboratively with supervisees to ensure the safety and well‑being of clients through the delivery of ethical, high‑quality clinical services, and to support supervisees in upholding professional and clinical standards. The Supervisor provides oversight through monitoring, observation, mentorship, coaching, and evaluation. They foster a supportive environment that promotes accountability, self‑motivation, continuous learning, and professional development. Accountability The Supervisor – Clinical, Outreach Services reports directly to the Manager – Clinical, Outreach Service. Qualifications Education & Professional Credentials:
- Persons of First Nations ancestry will be given preference (OHRC, Part II, Special Employment).
- Bachelor’s degree in a core mental health discipline (e.g., social work, psychology) or closely related field from a recognized institution is required.
- Current registration in good standing with a regulated professional body authorized to practice psychotherapy in Ontario (e.g., OCSWSSW, CRPO, CPA) with authorization for independent practice is required.
- Completion of a minimum of 150 hours of clinical supervision, along with at least 30 hours of formal training in clinical supervision is required. Professional

Experience:
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience providing mental health counselling is required.
- Demonstrated clinical experience working with children, youth, adults, and families.
- Experience supporting complex clinical presentations, including concurrent disorders, trauma, and high‑risk behaviours.
- Previous supervisory and leadership experience is considered an asset. Clinical Knowledge & Competencies:
- Strong understanding of theoretical frameworks and principles underpinning mental health practice.
- Proficiency in clinical assessment, case conceptualization, and treatment planning.
- Ability to maintain high standards of ethical and professional practice. Skills & Abilities:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong problem‑solving, organizational, time management, and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to take initiative, work independently, adapt to changing priorities, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.

- Knowledge of First Nations cultures, histories, and the social and geographic realities of northern communities.
- Experience working with First Nations individuals and communities is an asset.
- Ability to communicate in a First Nations dialect of the Sioux Lookout region is an asset. Duties & Responsibilities Clinical Oversight & Quality Assurance
- Monitor counsellors to ensure consistent adherence to organizational policies, standard operating procedures, clinical protocols, performance expectations, and productivity benchmarks.
- Review clinical documentation (e.g., session notes, assessments, interventions, and treatment plans) to ensure appropriate level and continuity of care.
- Ensure documentation meets established standards; provide timely feedback and address deficiencies.
- Oversee the provision of effective case management services.
- Ensure timely response, active clinical involvement, and thorough documentation for all high‑risk cases.
- Maintain oversight of case files, ensuring legal and ethical issues are identified and addressed promptly.
- Maintain a tracking system for high‑risk clients to ensure continuity and adequacy of service delivery.
