Do you love being part of a dynamic and creative learning environment? Are you accredited or able to become accredited to teach music classes in the Province of British Columbia at a high school level? Music instructors who qualify for a Letter of Permission are also encouraged to apply.

This is a permanent part-time position teaching 1 block of String Ensemble at the secondary level. Each block represents 3 instructing hours per week. Our spectacularly beautiful and innovative T. Gil Bunch Centre for the Performing Arts allows for multidisciplinary spaces to learn, create and work collaboratively. You will love coming to work to teach your music blocks on Monday, Wednesday and Friday afternoons each week, allowing you time to pursue your craft with other opportunities.

You will be working alongside colleagues who are dedicated to supporting a positive student learning experience, from classroom to studio to athletic venue to boarding house. Your innovative nature will be supported as you create authentic learning opportunities for your students. Our faculty team works with students who are interested in learning and see a future that includes their skills and ideas. Your Qualifications and Experience:

- Hold a BC Teaching Certificate, Independent School Teaching Certificate or have the qualifications and experience to promptly obtain a Letter of Permission

- Experience as a fine arts educator (institutional, community–based or private), and ideally, teaching music classes in a high school environment

- Familiarity with Grade 9 -12 BC Arts curriculum an asset

Notes:

- Criminal Record Check clearance is a condition of initial and ongoing employment

- Annual compensation range: $6,571 to $10,372 depending on years of experience and holding a BC Teaching Certificate or Independent School Teaching Certificate – Prorated to the actual start date.

- Blocks are scheduled from 4:00pm to 5:00pm Monday, Wednesday and Friday

- The start date is anticipated to be in early January 2026
