The Manager will perform duties and responsibilities consistent with psychosocial rehabilitation principles when assisting with the rehabilitation and community integration of individuals in the Community Homes for Opportunity (CHO) program. This will include duties and responsibilities specific to the tenants in all CHO homes and Home Owner agreements, and general responsibilities to support the administrative requirements of the Supportive Housing Department, and Director.

What We’re Offering
- What you’ll be making - $44.02 - $46.66 per hour (Manager Grid).
- The above are initial rates; with grid increases as per policy
- When you’ll work -70 hours biweekly; Monday-Friday 8:30am-4:30pm
- Your pension plan –Immediately enrolled in the Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan (HOOPP)

How You Will Make a Difference
Program Implementation
- Ensures quality of care to clients and families represents “best in class”
- Ensures availability and operation of necessary equipment and supplies for client care
- Reviews all referrals for CHO homes with regard to appropriate fit and availability of beds
- Coordinates internal intakes with staff members
- Maintains relevant program waitlists, where appropriate
- Coordinates and ensure smooth and timely admission and discharge of clients
- Determines client needs and their suitability for CHO in collaboration with the Coordinator, staff members, CHO homeowners or staff, and the Director of Supportive Housing
- Supports local community partners, including the City of St. Thomas on housing solutions and strategic planning
- Supports team meetings
- Coordinates scheduling, time‑off approvals, and overtime approvals for staff
- Works alongside the Coordinator to support with direction, coaching, and guidance to staff
Program Evaluation and Development
- Promotes integrating evidence‑based knowledge into the identification of best practice in the delivery of care to the appropriate population
- Systematically evaluates the quality and effectiveness of services, analyzing appropriate internal and external data and information to identify opportunities in collaboration with stakeholders for improving services and individual outcomes
- Assists the Director in the development and organization of CHO
- As directed, coordinates and directs expansion of services moving and opening of new facilities
- Conducts Quality Record Reviews in accordance with accreditation standards
- Ensures compliance to CHO agreements with the Ministry of Health and homeowners
Leadership and Human Resources
- Develops and maintains strong partnerships associated with CHO homeowners, Ministry of Health, and the Parkwood Institute of Mental Health
- Professionally liaises and collaborates with community workers and agencies regarding programs, referrals, intakes, and waitlist
- Coordinates provision of services to clients; this includes providing direction and support to staff with regards to individual needs assessments, Mental Status Exams, goal setting, service coordination, crisis management, skills development, advocacy on behalf of clients with other agencies/services, individual records, and documentation
- Conducts individual and/or group staff supervisions to review the team and/or individual’s specific work program, to discuss team/staff progress and to review the direction of team/staff work. Also provides positive feedback and acknowledges accomplishments
- With the support of the Director and Human Resources, addresses staff performance concerns
- Ensures support and direction to students assigned to programs in the performance of their assigned tasks
- Completes performance reviews with staff
- Assists co‑workers and helps with resolving job problems and assisting them in working as a team to achieve their purposes
- Monitors and coordinates daily staffing requirements including assignment of relief staff as required
- Interviews potential CHO staff with Coordinator and Director
- Orientation and training of new staff and students
- Ensures that all agency‑wide and Supportive Housing policies and procedures are adhered to
- Participates as an active member of the On‑Call Team, to support after‑hours issues arising in programs across the Organization as per the On‑Call Team Job Description
- Provide coverage for Manager, CHO London as needed
Communication and Decision Making
- Identifies and promotes the resolution and management of all emergency situations concerning individuals, staff, and property using agency policies and procedures and cameras when appropriate
- Makes decisions independently and collaboratively concerning operations of the programs, policies of the organization and accreditation standards
- Collaborates with Manager, CHO London to ensure consistency in decision making and equitable service across all regions
- Chairs staff meetings or assigns a delegate
- Ensures effective communication with Director, managers, staff team, and external treatment teams concerning client progress
- Coordinates maintenance for the facilities with staff and Property Services
- Financial documentation and documentation related to clients
- Completes required statistics and reports
- Reviews budget with Director
- Takes on special assignments as agreed to with the Director
- As directed, represents the agency on inter‑agency committees
- Resolves IT and property issues in coordination with IT and Property Services
What You’ll Need to Apply
Police Vulnerable Sector Check Requirements
Successful candidates must have a Police Vulnerable Sector Check completed in the last six months. Interested applicants who reside in the City of London and are in need of a Police Vulnerable Sector Check (PVSC) are encouraged to apply for one as soon as possible as PVSCs in the City of London are currently taking approximately 2 weeks to be processed and offers of employment cannot be made without receipt of a PVSC.
We Require the Following Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or credentials in a mental health, social services and / or a related field (primary proof of credentials will be required during the hiring process i.e. original degree/diploma or official transcript)
- Valid Driver’s Licence and access to a vehicle with adequate insurance to carry out job duties
- Minimum of five years’ experience working with people with mental illness and/or social services field
- Minimum of three years’ experience in a supervisory/middle management capacity
We Prefer the Following Qualifications
- Training/accredited credentials in middle management/human resource skills
- Current certification in CPR and First Aid
- Demonstrated judgment and organizational skills
- Demonstrated ability to defuse potential conflict situations
- Flexibility and adaptability to changing needs and circumstances
- Ability to work effectively as an individual facilitator and in team settings
- Ability to motivate staff and volunteers
