Geotechnical Instrumentation Monitor
- Fly In, Fly Out Fly-In, Fly-Out | 7/7 Rotation
- night shift | Client Site near Fort McMurray Neegan Technical Services is currently accepting applications for full-time Geotechnical Instrumentation Monitors. These fly-in,fly-out positions are based at Canadian Natural Resources,supporting construction and instrumentation monitoring projects across variousclient sites near Fort McMurray. The successful candidates will work in a field-based environment under avariety of weather conditions and collaborate closely with team members and theclient to support both geotechnical construction activities and instrumentationmonitoring programs. Scope of Work The scope of work includes providing geotechnical construction andinstrumentation monitoring support across active project sites. Instrumentation MonitoringResponsibilities
- Reading and monitoringgeotechnical instruments including:
- Slope Inclinometers
- ShapeArrays
- Standpipes
- Monitoring tailings and miningstructures for changes in pressure and ground movement
- Collecting and entering fielddata
- Ensuring readings remain belowestablished threshold levels
- Notifying supervisors whenreadings exceed trigger criteria
- Operating ARGO units to accessinstruments not accessible by truck
- Driving off-road to reachmonitoring locations Construction MonitoringResponsibilities
- Monitoring active constructionareas to ensure work is conducted in accordance with design specificationsand IFC (Issued for Construction) drawings
- Signing off on foundationapprovals
- Performing field density testingusing a Nuclear Densometer
- Conducting sieve testing andother lab testing as required
- Providing limited survey support,including collecting coordinates for foundation approval extents and fielddensity locations
- Documenting constructionactivities in detailed shift reports
- Working safely around heavyequipment Qualifications & Requirements
- Diploma and/or Degree in Civil,Environmental, Geotechnical, or related field (considered an asset)
- Experience in geotechnicalinstrumentation and/or construction monitoring is considered an asset
- Ability and willingness to workin adverse weather conditions
- Valid driver's license with a clean driver's abstract
- Proficient in Microsoft OfficeSuite
- Comfortable operating ATVs andtowing trailers
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Strong attention to detail anddocumentation skills
- Demonstrated commitment to safetyas a top priority, adhering to all Safe Work Practices and Procedures Additional Information
- Shift schedule: 7 nights on / 7 nights off
- Fly-in, fly-out position
