Millards is currently looking for an Accounting Technician to join our Assurance Team. Located in our Brantford office, the incumbent must be able to work within a confidential environment, be flexible and adaptable to multiple requirements of the role, ability to work independently and within a team environment. Local travel will require access to a vehicle for travel to clients.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities
- Preparation of audit and review engagements, including:
- Preparation and completion of assigned components of audit and review engagements.
- Preparation of corporate tax returns, related checklists, and additional tax filings.
- Communication with clients, acquiring a strong understanding of clients’ businesses.
- Maintain and develop knowledge of assurance standards and accounting frameworks.
- Assisting junior staff and students.
- Ensure that all significant engagement matters are documented and brought to the attention of the Partner or Manager, as well as keeping them informed of the progress of the engagement.
Education and Professional Skills/Knowledge
- Post-secondary education in Accounting or Business
- Minimum of 2 years of public accounting experience, including experience with audit and review engagements.
- Previous experience with accounting programs including Caseware, Taxprep.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Ability to assist junior staff.
- Outstanding client/customer service skills.
- Solid knowledge and understanding of required government taxes (payroll, consumer and other business).
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- The flexibility to work additional hours during certain months of the year.
