Position Summary:

As the Manager, Continuous Improvement, you’ll play a key role in helping LifeLabs build strong, efficient, and people-focused operations. Working alongside our Operations and Support teams, you’ll lead initiatives that create lasting improvements in safety, quality, efficiency, and team engagement.

You’ll apply your expertise in Lean tools and methodologies to enhance processes—and, just as importantly, to inspire and equip colleagues at all levels to lead positive change.

This role is primarily virtual, with occasional in-office days (about 1–2 times per month) based on business needs. You may also visit sites across the Lower Mainland, BC, from time to time to support project work and collaborate with teams in person.

What You’ll Do:
Continuous Improvement Leadership:

- Lead and facilitate impactful CI projects that elevate safety, quality, delivery, cost efficiency, and employee engagement.
- Train, mentor, and inspire employees at all levels in Lean/Six Sigma principles and problem-solving methods.
- Develop and roll out Lean tools and methodologies that build CI capabilities across LifeLabs.
- Collaborate with leaders to foster a lasting culture of continuous improvement.
- Establish and monitor KPIs to measure progress and results.
- Facilitate kaizen events, value stream mapping sessions, and root cause analysis workshops.
- Support change management to ensure alignment, buy-in, and long-term adoption of process improvements.

Data-Driven Process Enhancement:

- Analyze data and business processes to uncover bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and opportunities for cost savings or productivity gains.
- Provide insights and recommendations that turn challenges into measurable results.
- Act as the main contact for system enhancement and feature requests, gathering and clarifying needs with stakeholders.
- Maintain a clear, centralized backlog for all requests.
- Use data-driven prioritization methods (e.g., RICE, impact/effort) to align enhancements with strategic goals, technical feasibility, and resource capacity.
- Partner with product owners and development leads to scope features and assess complexity.

What You’ll Bring:

- 5–7+ years in a similar role, with success in translating strategy into practical plans and guiding teams to achieve them.
- Degree in Engineering, Business, Science, or equivalent experience.
- Demonstrated ability to lead CI initiatives that drive results in complex, high-volume environments.
- Applied knowledge of Lean tools (e.g., Value Stream Mapping, 5S, JIT, Standardized Work, Poka-Yoke).
- Experience deploying Lean/Six Sigma in multisite settings; Six Sigma certification is an asset.
- Skilled at coaching, motivating, and influencing teams without direct authority.
- Understanding of EHS principles and related regulatory requirements.

Additional Requirements:

- Must have a valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle.
- This role is primarily virtual, with occasional in-office days (about 1–2 times per month) based on business needs.
- Site visits across the Lower Mainland, BC may also be required from time to time to support project work and collaborate with teams in person.

Why Join Us?

At LifeLabs, we celebrate diverse backgrounds, perspectives, and experiences. You’ll join a collaborative team where your ideas are welcomed, your contributions are valued, and your growth is supported. Here, you’ll have the opportunity to lead meaningful changes, make processes better for everyone, and see the real-world impact of your work.
