Position title: Business Data Analyst-Tuition and Fees Status: Appendix D Agreement Hours: 35 hours per week Faculty/Dept: Office of the Registrar Campus/Location: North Campus salary: Band H Low $33.38 High $38.75 What you will do: Reporting to the Manager, Fees in the Registrar’s Office, the Business Data Analyst – Tuition and Fees works with all academic faculties and several non-academic departments to establish processes and complete transactions related to the establishment of student tuition. Incidental fees and all other fees collected by the Office of the Registrar in the Banner student system. This requires an understanding and appreciation of the Ministry’s policy on tuition and fees; Have a thorough understanding of accounts receivable practices; Maintain and ensure accuracy of Banner tuition and fee tables; and processing fees for student accounts and collection of student account returns. Under the guidance of the manager, the incumbent works independently and is required to make decisions that affect the financial status of students, academic faculties and department processes, and ultimately the financial status of the college. Business Data Analyst – Tuition and fees required to work across the College to collect and maintain reports and documents such as the Master Humber College Fees Document to create a consistent, clear and transparent fee environment. The incumbent is expected to collaborate frequently with the Fees, Audit and Reporting Coordinator. Records and Registration Coordinators and Financial Services to resolve any issues related to fees, enrollment and financial audits, student records and registration. The successful incumbent has obtained a 3-year diploma/degree or equivalent in the following fields of study: Accounting, Commerce, Business Administration, Computer Science or a related program of study, and is working towards an accounting designation in the final levels of certification: CGA, CM, CA or CPA. experience A person working in student fee collection or accounting should have at least 3 years of relevant work experience. skills - Strong knowledge of financial statements, receipts, payments, general accounting procedures and internal controls; - Strong analytical and problem solving skills; - Superior communication skills with the ability to explain complex processes; - Sound meaning of the post-secondary system; - Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Microsoft Excel; - The student has demonstrated proficiency in information systems, particularly relational databases; - Ability to work in a highly automated environment Leadership skills and ability to work independently; - Ability to guide and motivate a team.
