This role involves operating a manual transmission wrecker/tow truck to provide towing and roadside assistance services. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical aptitude, excellent customer service skills, and experience in the automotive or towing industry. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment where safety, professionalism, and efficiency are top priorities.
Responsibilities:
- Operate tow trucks to recover, transport, and deliver vehicles safely and efficiently.
- Respond promptly to roadside assistance calls and assist customers with vehicle-related issues.
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance of tow trucks to ensure safe and reliable operation.
- Follow all MTO regulations and towing industry standards.
- Utilize mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot minor vehicle and equipment issues.
- Operate winches and hydraulic equipment for vehicle loading and unloading.
- Complete and maintain accurate documentation, including:
- Run sheets
- Invoices
- Vehicle information records
- Recovery reports
- Adhere to all safety procedures and traffic regulations to protect team members, customers, and the public.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers, and team members to ensure smooth operations.
Requirements:
- Valid Tow Truck Driver's License (Required)
- Valid Ontario Class G Driver's License with a clean driving record.
- Experience operating a manual transmission light-duty tow truck.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent customer service and communication abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Physical ability to perform demanding tasks and work in various weather conditions.
- Automotive repair experience is considered an asset.
- Previous towing or wrecker operation experience is preferred.
