Our technology and products

Planar motors are smart industrial robots that use magnetic forces for levitation and propulsion with six degrees of freedom. Key Responsibilities

As an Applications Engineer, you will play a critical role in delivering Planar Motor solutions to our customers, ensuring their seamless integration and operational success. Your responsibilities will encompass a wide range of activities, including collaborating closely with customers to align system capabilities with their operational needs and designing site‑specific solutions. You will travel throughout Europe to customer sites and oversee the site‑level solution architecture and commissioning of groundbreaking automation solutions. Your expertise will also be crucial in monitoring system performance, resolving technical issues through advanced troubleshooting, and providing comprehensive customer training and support. You will proactively gather, systematize, and convey customer feedback to internal teams, steering the development of new and application‑specific functionality.

- Collaborate closely with customers in the programming and commissioning of new systems.

- Work with customers to develop machine and production line concepts that leverage the unique attributes of the Planar Motor system.

- Perform advanced troubleshooting and root cause analysis, identifying product issues, and collaborating with engineering for long‑term improvements.

- Serve as the subject matter expert on Planar Motor products to educate other engineers about the implementation of the system to ensure a smooth development and commissioning process.

- Travel up to 50% of the time

Qualifications

- Bachelor's Degree or higher in Engineering

- Strong PLC programming abilities

- Proven experience integrating complex automation projects

- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain long‑term customer relationships

- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to present complex technical concepts to diverse audiences, including senior executives, engineering teams, and non‑technical stakeholders

Compensation Range

The hiring range for this role is $60K - $200K annually. Our ranges are based on market data, and offered salaries will be based on a combination of factors including, but not limited to, the successful candidate's job‑related knowledge, skills, education, and experience.
