Overview
Reporting directly to Director, QC Initiatives, the incumbent is responsible for providing second level pharmacy systems business support for store level pharmacy systems and applications primarily for Quebec. In addition, the incumbent evaluates testing and creates user documentation content for functional processes and data conversions of pharmacy management systems. The incumbent also provides on‑site support when required and impact analysis and functional solutions for third‑party adjudication issues, programs, and initiatives.
Primary Responsibilities
- Responsible for the second level pharmacy systems business support for stores and field resources as it relates to pharmacy data conversions including migration from legacy to new pharmacy management system and also acquisitions, and mergers: development of user acceptance testing (UAT) strategy, execution of UAT, liaising with both internal and external stakeholders to evaluate unique needs of acquired businesses; creating recommendations for catered solutions and store user documentation.
- Research and test various functional solutions, strategies, and tactics to create and update reference material content specific to the pharmacy application as it relates to third‑party adjudication issues, expanded scope of pharmacy practice, and pharmacy initiatives.
- Support development, testing and implementation of new pharmacy management system as required.
- Liaise with the Pharmacy Enhanced Support team in providing ongoing support and training of new pharmacy related programs, initiatives, and issues management.
- Analyze, research, and develop business rules to provide assistance with operational impact analysis, testing, documentation content, planning, implementation, and integration of pharmacy programs and initiatives.
- Develop a deployment and support plan for all PHX pharmacies, for hardware and network, in collaboration with central LCL teams and oversee the execution of the design activities required for each pharmacy.
- Manage training execution for pharmacy system users.
- Oversee and facilitate the preparation of deployment communications in a clear, concise, and timely fashion.
- Work collaboratively with stakeholders throughout the organization to: ensure visibility to other initiatives to avoid schedule conflicts or collisions; direct needs and concerns to the proper channels within the Program to ensure timely response and resolution; ensure proper task ownership and avoid duplication of effort.
- Support AssystRx software releases in collaboration with Telus.
- Coordinate, oversee and support ongoing hardware fixes and requests from stores.
- Provide AssystRX hardware and network support, support operations and internal processes (Snow, dashboards, SLA, etc.) in coordination with Telus or other stakeholders.
- Support franchise ownership changes in respect to adjudication licenses and connectivity, accounting setup.
- Support finance and accounting central office teams on inventory issues and financial reporting.
- Support acquisition team in due diligence of new opportunities, counselling and reporting.
- Other projects/duties as assigned.
- Occasional travel will be required. Skills, Experience & Education
- Bilingual – English and French.
- Experience and understanding of Assyst‑Rx pharmacy management system an asset.
- Demonstrated understanding of the pharmacy landscape in Quebec including regulations impacting pharmacy practice in Quebec, prescription reimbursement plans and prescription claims processing (public and private), clinical programs, pharmacy workflow, and health technology would be an asset.
- Thorough understanding of RAMQ, AQPP, the CPhA03 Pharmacy Claim Standard and the CLHIA Coordination of Benefits Guideline would be an asset.
- Comprehensive understanding of Electronic Health Records (DSQ) would be an asset.
- Excellent problem solving and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to successfully manage competing priorities. Experience and understanding of expanded scope of pharmacy practice, e.g. Medication Reviews, Injection Services, Prescribing, etc.
- Experience with Retail/Long Term Care aspect of pharmacy services.
- High level of proficiency Microsoft Office applications.
- Proficiency with JIRA and Confluence an asset.
- Ability to work flexible hours.
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
- Knowledge of integration of MMS/EPOS/accounting and any SDM software. Experience/Education
- Two to three years of similar and/or related work experience and pharmacy practice experience in Quebec.
