Lead safety initiatives in the solid waste sector with the City of Guelph as a Supervisor of Solid Waste Services. This hybrid role ensures effective supervision of collection logistics and compliance with safety regulations.
In this permanent, full-time position, you will be pivotal in overseeing the Residential Collection, Logistics, and Site Operations teams. Your leadership will promote a culture of safety and customer service, directly impacting community waste management programs. The ideal candidate will leverage their experience in equipment, safety legislation, and staff management to drive continuous improvement and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide leadership consistent with the City’s Leadership Charter
• Supervise and motivate Solid Waste Services staff
• Ensure compliance with Occupational Health and Safety Act
• Establish policies and performance standards for the section
• Monitor regulatory compliance through audits and inspections
Requirements:
• Post-secondary education in Environmental Science or related field
• Extensive experience in solid waste industry operations
• Proven ability to manage unionized staff and training
• Strong communication skills for public interactions
• Valid G driver’s license with a clean driving record Bring your expertise in solid waste management and leadership to enhance operations within the City of Guelph.
