Job Purpose
This is a full-time role based in Waterloo that provides project management through the supporting of fundraising of the signature, partner and third-party fundraising events, as well as other community engagement opportunities, within Waterloo Region and Guelph-Wellington County.
The role involves the following key responsibilities:
- Renew third-party events by cultivating positive relationships with organizers. Ensures they are recognized, thanked, and provides support to continue donor retention and revenue growth
- Reviews new proposals from individuals and groups who wish to fundraise on behalf of KidsAbility, including cause-related marketing initiatives from companies
- Supports the Senior Development Manager in the coordination of the Foundation's signature events, sponsorship and volunteer teams with strong promotion skills to invite broad reach and participation
- Supports volunteers and senior staff – through tracking and implementing sponsorship, primarily for signature and partner events, and collaborating with other development team members
- Manage the fulfillment of sponsorships, working closely with the Marketing and Communications team
- Liaise with Marketing and Communications on all event information to be shared through different social channels
- Provides administration support for Foundation events and other projects as required such as tracking all activity in database, helps prepare budgets, and follows up on outstanding event proceeds from community organizers
- Represents KidsAbility as an ambassador at events in the community as required (possible evenings and weekends)
- Provides administrative support to Foundation volunteer fundraising committees including organizing meetings, preparing agendas, minute taking, and tracking activities of the committee
More About You…
The ideal candidate will have:
- Minimum two (2) years of experience planning or supporting special events or initiatives with a client or community focus
- Excellent project management and administrative skills with the ability to coordinate a variety of projects concurrently
- A passion for fund development and donor and community relations
- Relevant post-secondary education in fundraising is an asset
- Proven fundraising experience is an asset
- Superior relationship building skills for strong community engagement with individuals and organizations
- Creative, results-oriented approach
- Attention to detail and excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Teamwork mind set and able to seek consensus
- Expertise in Microsoft Office Suite
- Knowledge of Donor Perfect and fundraising platform AKA raisin is an asset
- A valid driver's license and access to a vehicle is required with public liability and property damage
- Must be willing to work occasional evenings and weekends as required, including ability to work a flexible schedule
