This role is responsible for managing supplier relationships, overseeing purchasing activities, and ensuring timely and cost-effective sourcing of goods and materials. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, deep procurement expertise, and a passion for continuous improvement**Nationality Requirements**Candidates must be eligible to obtain the relevant security clearance required for the role, due to the nature of the programmes we deliver for our customers.**Job Description****Roles and responsibilities:*** Lead and mentor the buying team, setting clear goals and performance expectations* Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with business objectives* Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., planning, finance, operations) to plan purchases* Analyze market trends and pricing to identify cost-saving opportunities* Use ERP systems (IFS) and procurement tools to track orders and generate reports* Drive process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and responsiveness* Independently carries out Procurement processes, standards, and operational plans, including RFQs, negotiation preparations, and cost analysis.* Drive actions to mitigate potential delivery delays by identifying risks, performing root cause analysis and development of recovery plans to bring shipments back in-line with customer requirements.* Coordinates all activities related to procurement beginning with intent to purchase through delivery.* Manages the release of RFQ’s and PO’s in accordance with company and government regulations.* Negotiates the lowest possible cost balanced against the optimum quality and schedule needs.* Assures material is delivered on schedule, at the negotiated price, and meets the quality standards of the company.* Maintains timely control of orders, amendments, shipping notices, and other documents to assure accurate retention of records.* Ensure compliance with company policies, ethical standards, and regulatory requirements* Other duties as assigned.**Basic Qualifications*** Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, or related field* 10+ years of experience in supply chain or procurement, with at least 5 years in a leadership role* Strong negotiation, analytical, and decision-making skills* Proficiency in supply chain software (e.g., IFS, SAP, Oracle)* Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities* Proven track record of managing teams and delivering results in a fast-paced environment* Supply chain experience for an aerospace and/or Defense Company.* Procurement experience in a manufacturing environment.Typically, a Bachelor Degree (or equivalent) in a related field and 5+ years related experience or an Associate Degree in a related field and 1+ years in a leadership role.May be required to maintain security clearance**Diverse & Inclusive Employer**Ultra Maritime is an equal opportunities employer that values diversity, inclusion, equity and equality.
