The Pharmacist is responsible for providing pharmacy services to customers and medical practitioners. The Pharmacist will play a key role in achieving departmental excellence in patient focused care, customer service, workflow efficiencies, and PROfile programs. The Pharmacist will also provide guidance to Pharmacy students and Pharmacy Assistants and ensure that all patients receive professional clinical services while contributing to an environment of employee and customer engagement.

Job Description

Patient Focused Care

- Focus on clinical services (i.e., disease state management, medication reviews, health risk assessments)
- Prioritize prescription safety by delegating technical functions to Pharmacy Assistants when available
- Initiate care plans, follow up, and document
- Collect relevant patient, drug, and disease information
- Identify actual and potential drug-related problems
- Monitor medication adherence
- Provide patient counselling for new therapy and assess patient understanding of their medication
- Tailor counselling to the needs and concerns of the patient (e.g., literacy, hearing loss, privacy)

Customer Service

- Acknowledge customers promptly and professionally
- Demonstrate warmth, empathy, and compassion towards customers
- Provide superior customer service to every customer

Other

- Adhere to and implement all applicable company standards
- Perform other duties as required

Job Requirements

Technical Skills:

- Above average communication skills (oral and written)
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Self-directed and able to work independently to meet strict deadlines
- Ability to be a team player in a fast-paced environment

Education and Experience:

- Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from a recognized institution
- Must be a Licensed Pharmacist in the province of responsibility
- Previous experience in a retail and/or retail pharmacy setting preferred
