Position Title: Pharmacy Technician Clinical Specialist Status: I/O, 2 Years Contract Hours: 37.5 hours per week Faculty/Department: Faculty of Health Sciences and Wellness Campus/Location: North Campus Salary: Payband H (Start $36.29 – Max $42.13)

About the Pharmacy Technician Clinical Specialist Role:
This role reinforces practice skills, provides feedback based on pre-determined criteria/learning outcomes and provides technical expertise for students in the Pharmacy Technician Clinical and laboratory setting to become proficient in the performance of skills as established by Faculty. The Pharmacy Technician Clinical Specialist supports learners by applying previously taught theoretical content to practical application and supports skills mastery through demonstration and feedback. Responsibilities include the assessment of student acquisition of skills using Faculty developed pre-established performance checklists within the Pharmacy Technician Clinical and laboratory setting, preparing the lab environment, and liaising with community partners for off-campus Pharmacy Technician clinical fieldwork experiences.

Education
The successful candidate will possess a minimum of a 2-year Pharmacy Technician diploma from a recognized college.
Experience/Skills
- A minimum of three (3) years of practical work experience as a Pharmacy Technician and be registered in good standing with the Ontario College of Pharmacists.
- Experience with managing pharmacy supplies and inventory.
- Hospital and Community Pharmacy experience.
- Experience with supporting students.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Access, and PowerPoint), and Adobe Acrobat.
- Excellent time management and multitasking skills.
- Proven ability to work independently on assigned tasks with minimal supervision.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to work in a team environment.
- Ability to use office equipment – phone, photocopier, printer, and troubleshoot technical minor problems.
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
- Ability to travel to off-site placements.
