Job SummaryRole Description:Reporting and accountable to the Regional Medical Director (RMD) for Primary Care Integration. Key Areas of Involvement Include: Effective Delivery of Clinical ServicesEnsures that Clinic physicians deliver services appropriately within the remit of the Urgent and Primary Care Centre Quality and Utilization Monitoring/ImprovementEnsures physician members of the clinic are engaged in multidisciplinary quality improvement andutilization management activities within the clinic.Ensures that Family Physicians are engaged in reviews of and activities regarding expected standards ofmedical practice.Investigates complaints regarding care provided by physicians working in the clinic, in collaboration withthe RMD when appropriate. AdministrationAttends meetings of the UPCC Medical Directors as coordinated by the RMD.Provides a communication channel to and from Fraser Health leadership regarding regional and local objectives, general activities and other clinic relevant issues.Recommends and contributes to policies and guidelines, relating to medical/clinical matters, that areconsistent with agreed to goals.Promotes health and wellness amongst department members.Encourages a healthy, respectful workplace.Reviews the physician resource requirements of the clinic with clinic management, the local Collaborative Services Committee, and the RMD.Contributes to the selection of new physician staff members joining the clinic.Dispute Resolution.Mediates disputes involving clinic physicians. Medical Legal IssuesIdentifies potential liability issues and legal problems within the clinic and provides advice for specific cases/files to the RMD and/or Legal Counsel, as required. QualificationsCurrent licensure with CPSBC and Canadian College of Family Physicians plus two (2) years leadership experience within the healthcare sector. Additional training in management is preferred. Prior academic leadership experience is an asset.Demonstrated leadership in roles to lead and move forward organizational change in primary care.Sound working knowledge of running a primary care clinic including an understanding of staffing,budgeting, quality improvement activity and service delivery.Proven verbal and written communication and presentations skills within a leadership capacity. TermThe term of appointment as UPCC Medical Directors shall be for three (3) years, renewable by the RMD.In recommending re-appointment of a UPCC Medical Director the RMD shall consider the results of annual performance reviews. Compensation:The Physician will provide the Services outlined in Schedule A under this Agreement over 46 weeks out of each 12 month period. Fees:Based on the Health Employers Association of British Columbia Medical Leadership – Profiles & Compensation for Physicians, the FHA will pay to the Physician for the satisfactory provision of the Services the following fees:     a. An amount of $42,137.40 per annum plus GST where applicable.     b.
