Overview

Our government client in Winnipeg, MB is looking for an ABAP Cloud Developer resource for a 24-month contract (an initial 6 mth contract with an extension option of an additional 18 months) reference 29954-RFR-DTS-049. The position is preferred to be onsite in Winnipeg, MB but remote will be considered.

What you will be doing

- Reporting directly to the IT Services Manager, the ABAP Cloud Developer is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable and efficient solutions within the SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP), with a focus on ABAP Cloud development.

- This role supports the organization’s digital transformation initiatives by delivering high-quality, cloud ready applications that align with business requirements and SAP best practices.

- The developer collaborates closely with functional teams, business analysts, and other technical staff to ensure seamless integration, performance optimization, and continuous improvement of SAP systems.

What you must have

- Experience and proficiency using Microsoft Office (i.e., Word, Excel, Outlook, TEAMS).

- Experience with SAP S/4 HANA, ECC, and other SAP modules.

- Proficiency in ABAP, RAP, and CDS views.

- Experience with SAP BTP, CAP, SAP Fiori/UI5 and SAP Business Application Studio.

- Strong understanding of SAP CPI, APIs (REST, SOAP), IDocs.

- Experience with Git, gCTS, transport management, CI/CD pipelines, and Cloud ALM.

- Skills in building CDS analytical views, SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC), and using embedded analytics in S/4HANA.

- Minimum 5 years in similar role.

- A post-secondary degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Management Information Systems, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.

- Excellent problem-solving skills/troubleshoot with keen attention to detail.

- Strong communication skills with ability to communicate clearly both verbally and written.

- Demonstrated interpersonal skills to work effectively with diverse teams: build and maintain positive relationships with co-workers, direct reports, and stakeholders.

- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

- Experience working in a public sector environment.

Nice to have

- Experience working on large ERP programs

- Experience converting from SAP ECC to SAP S/4 HANA

- Familiarity with SAP implementation methodology

- Familiarity with Project Management methodologies, particularly Hybrid Agile

- Experience working with large System Integrator teams
