Overview

Cummings Veterinary Hospital is looking for a Full-Time or Part-Time Veterinary Assistant to join our Team

Location: 5111 Church Road, Easton PA 18045

Compensation: $16 - $18 based on experience with opportunities for annual bonus.

Schedule: We will work with you to create a schedule with mutual benefits.

Hospital Hours:

Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 6:00 pm

Saturday - 8:00 am - 1:00 pm

Skills: Must be proficient in restraint, medical terminology, basic understanding of vaccine protocols, and have previous veterinary hospital experience.

Cummings Veterinary Hospital in Easton, PA is a thriving AAHA-accredited practice with four doctors and a strong focus on patient care. We offer a large array of services including soft tissue surgeries, ultrasound, laser therapy, low stress handling techniques, and more.

We are excited to offer Phovia Fluorescent Light Therapy. Phovia is a two-step treatment using LED lamp and a chromophore gel that creates multi-wavelength fluorescent light energy to aid in healing wounds quicker.

Responsibilities

How you'll make an impact:

- Assist the Veterinarians and Veterinary Technicians in all duties.
- Prepare animals for exams and surgery.
- Aid in performing medical treatments.
- Perform or prepare laboratory tests.
- Administer medications under the direction of a Veterinarian or Veterinary Technician.
- Obtain and properly handle/prepare in-house and laboratory specimens.
- Work in cooperation with staff to attend to immediate needs.
- Handle animals and their owners courteously and tactfully.
- Maintain a healthy, safe, sanitary, pleasant, and clean facility for the animals.

Qualifications

Physical demands and work environment:

- Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and climb; manipulate up to 50 pounds and lift over 50 pounds with assistance.
- Ability to work in noisy conditions with sounds from animals and equipment.
- Exposure to pets that may bite or scratch, and occasionally to anesthesia, radiation, biological hazards, and medication/controlled substances.
- Fluency in written and verbal skills necessary to perform essential functions.
- Ability to exchange accurate information with all clients and team members.
