Position Overview

Experience

- Minimum two (2) years recent high risk Labour and Delivery experience and/or L.D.R.P. nursing experience required.

- Minimum two (2) years recent experience in perioperative nursing in Labour and Delivery required.

- Charge Nurse experience required.

Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)

- Bachelor of Nursing degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.

Certification/Licensure/Registration

- Current CRNM registration required.

- Active participation in professional associations e.g. Association of Regulated Nurses of Manitoba (ARNM) preferred.

- Annual BLS Level C Registration/Re-Registration is required.

NOTE: Successful completion and on-going renewal of the Neonatal Resuscitation Program at a time scheduled by the employer or at a time mutually agreed upon between the nurse and the employer required.

Qualifications and Skills

- Demonstrated effective verbal and written communications skills required.

- Demonstrated effective organizational, interpersonal, critical thinking/problem-solving, leadership and decision-making skills in response to a variety of simultaneous demands required.

- Demonstrated teaching ability required.

- Scope of practice as documented in the Regulated Health Professions Act (RHPA).

- Applicants will be assessed against the following selection criteria, as applicable to the position: experience, education, experience, patient care and clinical knowledge/skills, leadership skills, communication and interpersonal skills, critical thinking and problem-solving skills, quality improvement, teaching skills, research knowledge, professional development and seniority.
