This is a great opportunity to join our friendly communications and involvement team, supporting the delivery of the communications and involvement function. Based in Halifax, you will work as part of NHS West Yorkshire Integrated Care Board (ICB) communications and involvement team for Calderdale.
We are looking for someone who enjoys working with people, is organised, can plan and prioritise effectively to meet deadlines and wants to contribute to our end goal of improving health outcomes for the people of Calderdale. Working closely with your colleagues from the ICB in Calderdale and the wider West Yorkshire team, along with our partner organisations that make up Calderdale Cares Partnership, you will be an important member of the team, providing excellent business support to help deliver our team priorities.
You will understand the importance of patient and public involvement and ensuring communication is timely and accurate, and understand the importance of equality, diversity and inclusion.

Main duties of the job
Act as a point of contact for the communication and involvement team. Deal and respond to queries effectively, potentially complex and/or confidential from any stakeholder, including public, staff and media. Pass on relevant information to appropriate team members sensitively in a timely manner. Undertake administrative duties which include maintaining effective electronic and paper filing systems, to ensure that information is kept secure and is accessible to other members of the team.
Prepare and distribute paperwork in a timely manner for communications and involvement activities. This could include preparing agendas and presentations, circulating either electronically or hard copy as appropriate, taking minutes and distributing notes, including typing up of group discussions and interviews as necessary.
Manage and maintain shared inboxes, stakeholder databases, campaigns calendar, project plans.
Update the external website and intranet as directed using CMS e.g. WordPress.

Job responsibilities
Support communication and involvement leads prepare papers for various committees, ensuring deadlines are met and correct formatting is used, following accessibility guidelines. The post holder will plan and organise their own workload to ensure key deadlines linked to the role are met. Taking guidance, advice and support from line manager, or senior colleagues in order to complete duties.
Support with the development and delivery of communication and involvement activities, such as meetings, workshops, events, and asset-based training. This could include diary coordination, organising rooms, booking venues, liaising with participants and speakers to ensure smooth running of activities, advertising and promoting to the public, staff and wider stakeholders.
The post holder will be part of Calderdale's Involving People Network and the wider West Yorkshire Health and Care Partnership communications and involvement network.

Skills & behaviours
- Clear communicator with good interpersonal skills, excellent written, data entry and presentation skills: capable of constructing and delivering clear information/instructions to public, staff and wider stakeholders.
- Ability to work under pressure in a busy working environment and able to multi-task.
- Has a planned and organised approach with an ability to prioritise own workload to meet deadlines.
- Has attention to detail, able to work accurately identifying errors quickly and easily.
Qualifications
- Educated to NVQ level 4 in a relevant subject or equivalent knowledge and experience.
Experience
- Knowledge and experience of IT systems and software programmes such as Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
- Knowledge of NHS issues or other public/voluntary sector bodies.
