Job Description
Reporting to the Southwest EMS Operations Manager the Emergency Medical Technician
- Primary Care Paramedic (PCP) is responsible for responding to emergent and non-emergent EMS calls for service; and for providing initial assessment, treatment, stabilization and transport of ill or injured persons at the Basic Life Support level. The PCP will provide care with strict adherence to: Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) core values, policies, and work standards; Saskatchewan College of Paramedics (SCoP) Paramedic Clinical Practice Protocols; The Paramedics Act and SCoP Regulatory and Administrative Bylaws; and The Saskatchewan Ambulance Act and Regulations. Human Resources Exemption No Education
- Primary Care Paramedic diploma (PCP) Licenses
- International Trauma Life Support Certificate (ITLS)
- Registered Emergency Medical Technician/Primary Care Paramedic (EMT/PCP)
- Automated External Defibrillator Certificate (AED)
- Valid Class 4 driver's license
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Certificate (CPR) Competencies
- Advanced

- Familiar with the SK Ministry of Health Ambulance Information System.

- Preference to HSAS members as per the SAHO/HSAS Collective Agreement
- Computer skills, where required

- Shaunavon is located approximately 108 km southwest of Swift Current
