Quality Assurance Manager

Role Summary
The Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for designing, implementing, directing, and controlling the Quality Assurance System to ensure that all quality activities are carried out in accordance with established policies and procedures. The primary task of this role will be to ensure compliance with company policies, practices, procedures, and work rules to support and maintain an AS9100 compliant Quality Management System (QMS).
Roles and Responsibilities
1. Interface with production, engineering, and suppliers to ensure that requirements are met and correctly documented.
2. Formulate organizational policies and procedures to ensure proper management and efficient activities within the organization in accordance with AS9100, ISO9001-2008, and CARs 561 requirements.
3. Lead process improvement planning in a team-based environment.
4. Oversee and direct process quality audits and internal audits of the QMS.
5. Establish control, distribution, and preservation of manuals, procedures, and quality records.
6. Conduct assessments and propose improvements to methods, systems, and procedures in areas such as operations, human resources, records management, and communications.
7. Develop and maintain a training program. Retain the records associated with the quality program.
8. Monitor incoming material quality and work with suppliers to improve as-received quality level. Establish vendor auditing process to mitigate escapes.
9. Provide support for failure analysis and reliability testing as required.
10. Oversee and improve MRB process. Drive timely root cause analysis and implementation of preventive corrective actions for quality issues.
11. Review quality document changes (e.g., ECNs, procedures, work instructions). Drive effective qualification of product and process changes to ensure a high level of quality.
12. Communicate all findings and results from the quality program to the Vice President/President.
13. Other duties that may be assigned.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
1. 5 - 10 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment.
2. Completion of college or university program in Engineering and Business Administration.
3. Proven experience in quantitative data analysis, measurement systems, reporting methodologies, and MRB processes.
4. Ability to review, understand, and interpret technical drawings, documentation, and specifications in accordance with the aerospace industry.
5. Extensive knowledge of ISO9000/AS9100 is an asset.
6. Ability to work under pressure in a busy and complex environment with minimal supervision.
7. Knowledge of business systems including ERP and Microsoft Office.
Salary Range
$60-70k
