Hi, I'm Cato , CEO at Loop , and I am hiring a Head of Finance to play a critical role overseeing and owning the financial oversight of Loop. This role is an onsite position at our downtown Toronto office (Adelaide and Spadina).

Where You Come In

You are responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of the business, including budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, treasury management, financial operations as well as strategic projects and stakeholder management. You will be responsible for managing our annual audits as well as other critical financial reporting functions including those to partners and regulators. You will be expected to play a key role in guiding the company towards sustainable growth.

A key aspect of this role involves managing financial processes related to the operation of our products, including the management and movement of customer funds, performing ongoing reconciliations, managing refund and dispute processes. Your leadership will directly impact the trust and financial experience of our customers.

In this role, you will be part of the company's leadership team and report directly to the CEO.

What You'll Be Doing

Strategic Financial Leadership:

- Lead the annual budgeting process, rolling forecasting, and long-term financial planning.
- Develop financial models and scenario analyses to support the CEO and Leadership team with planning and strategic decision-making.
- Drive financial planning processes and support with financial modeling at both a company and team level.
- Provide financial insights on key drivers such as growth, unit economics, and profitability drivers.
- Support with the analysis of new initiatives, investment decisions, and strategic initiatives.
- Build and mentor a high-performing accounting team, fostering professional growth and accountability.

Financial Reporting and Analysis:

- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, along with consolidations and variance analysis.
- Track KPIs, identify trends, and provide meaningful insights to stakeholders.
- Own and drive the end-to-end audit process, including relationships with external auditors.
- Oversee all accounting, treasury, tax, and financial reporting to external stakeholders, regulators and investors.

Capital Management:

- Manage the company's capital structure and support its funding strategy, including equity and debt financing across multiple entities.
- Build and maintain relationships with investors, banks, and other financial institutions.
- Support fundraising efforts, including preparing financial models, investor presentations, and due diligence materials.

Treasury Management and Operations:

- Oversee the custody and movement of customer funds, manage daily reconciliation activities and ensure security, efficiency, and compliance with industry regulations.
- Develop and optimize payment operations, including payment initiation, chargebacks and reversals, dispute management and collections processes.
- Implement systems and processes to track customer financial interactions and improve reporting capabilities.
- Monitor and improve metrics related to transaction management, such as processing times, escalations and more.

What We're Looking For

- CPA Designation
- 8+ Years of progressive accounting experience
- Familiarity with the financial services industry either in an industry role or an audit/advisory capacity
- Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems; experience with QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar platforms.
- Advanced Excel skills and experience with financial modelling and analysis.
- You are a strong communicator and can effectively convey financial concepts and information to others
- You are a self-starter and can work without supervision
- You are comfortable working through ambiguous situations and managing multiple priorities

What we offer

- Salary range CAD$160,000-$200,000 annual, commensurate with experience
- Equity ranging from 1.00%-1.50%
- Enrollment in group's health benefits after probation period

- 90 minutes in person meetings with three team members
- 45 minutes in person meeting with Cato, CEO and Co-Founder
