Responsibilities
- Underwrite basic to moderately complex commercial property and casualty insurance contracts, covering pricing, production, and delivery risk management, and local brokerage plan management.
- Evaluate risks and make underwriting decisions based on company guidelines, risk appetite, and pricing strategies.
- Develop and maintain relationships with brokers and clients, providing exceptional customer service and offering high-value solutions.
- Collaborate with other underwriters, brokers, and internal teams to foster profitable growth and achieve assigned monthly sales goals.
- Analyze data and trends to identify new business opportunities and develop marketing strategies to attract new business.
- Manage the submission, quoting, and commitment processes for new and renewal business, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and timeliness.
- Negotiate policy terms and conditions with brokers and clients, ensuring compliance with underwriting guidelines and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
- Significant experience in commercial property underwriting.
- Bilingualism (French and English) with excellent communication skills, essential for interacting with clients and partners across Canada.
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or related field, or a combination of relevant education and experience.
- Experience with a CRM and policy management systems.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build partnerships with brokers and clients.
