We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Tourism and Marketing Assistant to join our team for the summer season. As a Summer Student, you will have the opportunity to work with our experienced staff to develop and implement marketing campaigns that showcase the beauty and attractions of Elgin County.

Job Description

Under the supervision of our Tourism Officer, you will assist with various tasks including digital content creation, visitor engagement, and operating the Port Stanley Visitor Centre. This role requires an outgoing and self-motivated personality, as well as excellent communication and customer service skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the development and implementation of marketing campaigns to promote local attractions and events.
  • Create engaging digital content to showcase Elgin County's tourism offerings.
  • Provide exceptional customer service at the Port Stanley Visitor Centre.
  • Operate as a goodwill ambassador for Elgin County, promoting the county's image and reputation.
Requirements
  • Post-secondary education in Business, Marketing, Tourism, or a related field (preferred).
  • Valid class 'G' driver's license and clear Ontario Driver Abstract.
  • Experience with computer software, including Microsoft Office Suite and CRM systems.
  • Pleasant, outgoing personality with a basic knowledge of Elgin County.
  • Good time management, interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Working Conditions

This is a part-time position, approximately 35 hours per week, including weekends. You will be required to work varying hours, including some evenings and weekends.
