Oracle Database Administrator

We are seeking an experienced Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) to support and optimize a high-volume Oracle database (PRISM) and contribute to the database strategy for its future cloud-based replacement. This role involves performance tuning, collaboration with architects and engineers, and acting as the database subject matter expert. The ideal candidate will bring deep Oracle expertise along with a proactive mindset toward learning and innovation.
Job Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with architects and technical leaders to deliver database performance tuning and optimization for the PRISM Oracle database.
- Assist in the design and implementation of the cloud-based replacement strategy for PRISM.
- Partner with software engineers to ensure performant database code execution.
- Help analysts trace data flows through complex system architectures.
- Support ongoing database maintenance in collaboration with other IT teams.
- Contribute to documentation efforts for database processes and configurations.
- Serve as the team’s database subject matter expert across Oracle and related technologies.
Required Skills:
- 5+ years of experience as an Oracle DBA with a focus on performance tuning.
- Proficiency with Oracle PL/SQL and database tuning tools.
- Experience using Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM).
- Strong communication skills with the ability to adapt technical detail to various audiences.
- Strong collaboration, documentation, analytical, and decision-making skills.
- Commitment to incorporating security in all job responsibilities.
- Willingness to continuously learn and explore new technologies.
Preferred Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Experience with cloud platforms and migrations (preferably AWS or Azure).
- DBA experience with PostgreSQL.
- Familiarity with Data Governance best practices.
Certifications:
[Optional – e.g., Oracle Certified Professional (OCP), AWS/Azure certifications]
Education:
Bachelor's degree preferred in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, MIS, or related field./
