Our client, an international well-established pharmaceutical company, is present in several market segments. They are currently looking for a specialty representative.

The ideal candidate will have drug sales experience and relevant disease and product knowledge. He or she also possesses strong influencing and negotiation skills honed in highly competitive markets.

Responsibilities include:

1. Ensure monitoring systems are in place and effectively managed to evaluate the effectiveness of the sales force.
2. Regularly measure success, document, and provide feedback on performance to management.
3. Establish effective working relationships with key local and national opinion leaders who can influence policy positions and prescribing protocols.
4. Manage territory budgets for customer contacts, speaker events, and other miscellaneous external expenses.
5. Act as a resource person for other sales team members, and support the Line Manager in mentoring and coaching other team members.
6. Participate in the preparation of internal and external sales meetings and conferences.
7. Assist line manager in meeting regional business development needs.
8. Lead strategic planning sessions and facilitate ongoing performance reporting to key stakeholders.
9. Perform necessary administrative tasks in a timely manner, e.g., update customer database, expenses, etc.

Skills and qualifications :

- Bachelor's degree and more than 3-5 years' relevant experience in the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry - including 1-2 years' experience in specialty area.
- At least two years as a Senior Therapeutic Specialist is preferred.
- Solid knowledge of industry trends and stays current with competitor resources and practices.
- Ability to discuss the pros and cons (overall plan goals, cost and effectiveness, dosage, duration, etc.) of a product protocol, and identify opportunities to improve current treatments to best meet patient needs.
- Must be self-motivated and able to work with a high level of autonomy and independence, and be seen as an expert in sales and the relevant therapeutic area within the internal team.
- Experience in mentoring and coaching peers within the sales team.
