Duties
- As a business officer, you will work with internal and external clients to connect businesses, economic development organizations, and communities with our programming and services.
- Use data-informed tools to contribute to funding decisions, maintain accurate project information, and support performance reporting.
- Review funded projects for progress, conduct financial reviews, prepare reports, develop informatics, draft briefings, and evaluate compliance with legal agreements.

Intent of the process
This is an anticipatory process to develop a pool of qualified Business Officers for future temporary or indeterminate (ie., permanent opportunities). The pool of qualified candidates may be used to staff future vacancies with various tenures, work locations, language requirements and conditions of employment.
Travel and Work Requirements
- Willing and able to travel occasionally.
- Willing and able to work overtime on occasion as required.
- Ability and willingness to report to a PrairiesCan office a minimum of 3 days per week per the Direction on Prescribed Presence for the Government of Canada.

Your application must clearly explain how you meet the following
Education:
- Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in a field relevant to the duties of the position.
Experience in:
- Developing and maintaining working relationships with internal and external stakeholders (e.g. industry, government departments, post-secondary institutions) to advance economic development initiatives or projects that build business capacity.
- Monitoring terms and conditions of contractual agreements for loans, investments or projects.
- Researching and compiling data; reviewing financial transactions, financial statements and/or other financial analysis.
- Drafting and/or coordinating briefings, reports, correspondence and related materials in support of program, project, policy, and issues management; and making recommendations to management.

Experience in:
- Supporting the delivery of Grants & Contribution programming.
- Depth, breadth and scope of experience in any one or combination of the experience criteria.
