Job Summary

Under the direction of the Operations Manager, and maintaining the confidentiality of the Credit Union's member's information, provide a wide range of support to Members and the Credit Union by processing of ACH, Debit Cards, Transaction Processing, Share Draft Processing, IRAs, Member Account Maintenance, Electronic Banking and other functions that may be assigned. Specialists may be assigned a primary activity, but need the knowledge, skills, and training to perform all functions. All responsibilities are to be performed in compliance with TCU standard operating procedures, TCU policies, applicable state and Federal regulations and applicable state and federal law, as well as according to TCU's Core Values and Performance Standards.

Essential Responsibilities

ACH

1. Conduct ACH processing daily: ensure accuracy and verify receipt of incoming ACH files, ACH returns and reversal requests, and business client ACH files, balance collection and distribution of files, record and verify settlement dates, file totals to transmittals to ensure proper posting.
2. Submit, verify and log all daily scheduled jobs.
3. Process and handle exception reports, Government Reclamations and Death notices.
4. Reconcile GL accounts for ACH processing and generate corrections to internal GL and deposit clearing accounts as indicated by the reconciliations.

Plastic Card (ATM/debit/credit card)

1. Order, reorder and maintain, hot card and pins.
2. Handle all ATM transaction matters including card maintenance and disputes. Process disputes and chargebacks; monitor accounts for unusual activity and resolve member issues for debit and credit cards.
3. Review VISA CAMS alerts and recommend reissuing versus monitoring cards; facilitate large card reissues.

IRA

1. Maintain all IRA membership accounts for accuracy and completeness of year-end IRS tax reporting, process IRA death claims in a timely manner, administer the IRA program including the processing of new accounts, rollovers and withdrawals.
2. Updates the IRA direct system with the core system to ensure accurate reporting.

Account Activity & Maintenance

1. Review, confirm and/or process share drafts, stop payments, Remote Mobile Deposits, Shared Branching transactions, online new account opening, death claims, levies, garnishments and bankruptcy requests, maturity CD requests, daily reports; and settlements as delegated by the Deposit Operations Manager.
2. Provide Trust account and Ecommerce support.
3. Process daily reports and settlements as delegated by the Deposit Operations Manager.
4. Process and file daily account maintenance requests; maintain address change reports and returned mail logs.
5. Provide overrides and provide support to Staff related to Deposit Operations.
6. Monitor new account documents and handle account exceptions per the Customer Identification Program (CIP). Report discrepancies immediately to the Deposit Operations Manager and assist in clearing discrepancies.
7. Report closures, account abuse, and fraud to account verification companies.
8. Verify, process and release wires.
9. Input Next Day Payments into Eascorp for payment processing.

Other

1. Assists members with questions regarding the Credit Union's home banking system.
2. Complete Verification of Deposit forms as needed.
3. Attend monthly department meetings to ensure open communications of current issues and continued training in regulatory changes or new business products.
4. Provide back up to all other Deposit Operations Specialists.
5. Assists with the processing of the daily incoming mail.
6. Maintain supplies by checking stock to determine inventory levels; expediting orders and stocking items.
7. Timely completion of own performance evaluation/ and review and submission of supervised employees' evaluations.
8. Other duties related to TCU's operations or mission as assigned.

Required Experience & Skills

- A minimum of 1 year related experience in Credit Union Retail Operations.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, or software applications, and progress toward proficiency in SaaS currently used by TCU and assigned to this position.
- Can perform responsibilities accurately and timely with moderate and reasonable supervision, with minimal reminders and corrections.
- Evident habits of organized workspace and materials, and detail-orientation.
- Clear, friendly, tactful and effective written and oral communication.
- Critical thinking to evaluate sources of information and draw conclusions.

Required Education, Training, Certifications or Licensing

- High School diploma, GED or foreign country equivalent.
- Certification and credentials from attending vendor IRA training for IRAs. Train and keep up to date on all regulation changes.
- Continuing on-site and remote training on compliance and best practices.

Physical Requirements

- Sit or stand for long periods of time, walk, talk and hear.
- Lift and/or move up to twenty pounds.
- Communicate orally, both over the phone and face-to-face, with members and vendors. View a computer monitor and use an alpha-numeric keyboard.
- Vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and color vision.
