Job Title: Accountant
Location: Edmonton, AB

About Us:
Gentry Home Builders is an award-winning home builder in Edmonton, dedicated to creating high-quality homes with innovative designs and superior craftsmanship. As we continue to grow, we are looking for a detail-oriented and motivated Accountant to join our team and work directly under our Controller.

Position Overview:
The Accountant will play a key role in managing financial transactions, maintaining accurate records, and assisting with reporting and analysis. This position requires a strong understanding of accounting principles, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

- Assist the Controller with financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting
- Maintain accurate records of financial transactions and ensure compliance with accounting standards
- Manage payroll processing and ensure compliance with payroll regulations
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions
- Reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures
- Prepare financial reports and analysis as required
- Support tax filings and audits as needed
- Identify opportunities for process improvements in financial operations
- Other accounting and administrative duties as assigned

Qualifications & Skills:

- Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience (preferably in the home building or construction industry)
- Proficiency in accounting software (experience with QuickBooks, Sage, and BuilderTrend is an asset)
- Strong knowledge of financial principles and reporting standards
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Strong communication and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
