Job Description:

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Construction Engineer (Roads) (Saudi National) to join our team In this role you will get to perform a variety of engineering duties by applying basic engineering techniques and analyses within one discipline.

What You'll Be Doing:

- Site Preparation & Surveying: Assist in land surveying, leveling, and marking road alignments. Help with soil testing and geotechnical investigations. Ensure the site is cleared and prepared according to design plans.

- Design & Planning Assistance: Interpret road design plans, layouts, and specifications. Support senior engineers in preparing cost estimates and schedules. Assist in calculating materials needed for road construction (e.g., asphalt, concrete, aggregates).

- Construction Supervision: Monitor excavation, grading, and compaction of soil. Ensure proper drainage systems (culverts, stormwater channels) are installed. Observe asphalt paving and road surface finishing. Report daily site activities and progress to senior engineers.

- Quality Control & Safety: Conduct on-site material testing (soil compaction, asphalt mix quality, concrete strength). Ensure compliance with project specifications and road construction standards. Enforce safety protocols for workers and equipment usage.

- Coordination & Documentation: Work with surveyors, contractors, and site supervisors. Communicate any on-site challenges or required changes to senior engineers. Assist in keeping daily logs, reports, and documentation of construction activities.

- Problem-Solving & Technical Support: Identify issues such as pavement defects, improper drainage, or unstable subgrades. Suggest practical solutions under the guidance of senior engineers. Learn and apply software tools like AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Primavera for road design and scheduling.

- Learning & Development: Understand highway construction codes and road engineering principles. Gain hands-on experience with road materials, equipment, and techniques. Stay updated on innovations in road construction, such as sustainable materials and smart infrastructure.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering, or Construction Engineering from an accredited university/institution is required.

- 5+ years of experience in designing and construction of Roads project.

- Skilled in conducting site inspections to monitor construction progress, verify compliance with design specifications, and ensure quality control.

- Proficiency in designing and constructing roads, highways, and pavements, including alignment, grading, and drainage systems.

- Expertise in materials such as asphalt, concrete, and aggregate, including their properties and applications.

- Experience with tools like AutoCAD Civil 3D, Bentley MicroStation, and GEOPAK for design and modeling.

- Excellent verbal and written communication skill in English is required.
